How does ‘up and over’ garage door automation work?

A track is fitted above the centre of your door, fixed at one end to the lintel (or wall above the lintel) and at the other end to the rafters in the ceiling.

The operator is located at the end of the track and by way of a chain or belt system which moves a carriage along the track.

The carriage is connected to your door or a converter bracket.

To open the automated garage door you can either use a mini transmitter which is portable (keep in your car, on your Keyring etc) or you can have an open button which can be situated in your garage.

If there is a power cut or you lose the mini transmitter you can open the garage door by using a manual release mechanism.
